DISCLAIMER:

NONE OF MY SHOWS IN THIS LIST WILL MATCH MD5 / SHINID FILES POSTED AT ETREE!

I tag all my files and often times change file names to reflect etree standards. When tags are added, altered, MD5 files will error. Consequently I Delete ALL MD5 files from traded FLAC.

IF HAVING NUMBERS MATCH IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN MUSIC FOR YOU, PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT ME FOR TRADES. Thank you.

Nothing on this list is for sale!!!! These shows are available for trade ONLY!

I have Almost THREE Terabytes of FLAC that I've received through electronic trades / Hardrive swaps, that have not as of yet been added to the list!

Some shows I have on BOTH FLAC and CD. The # of FLAC listed equals the # of CDs. If a 0 is listed, then I ONLY have the FLAC copy. If WAV is listed, it was sent to me as a WAV file and has not yet been converted to FLAC.

I've been a live-Music taper since 1986, and currently use Neumann KM-140 microphones.

After taping with DAT since 1994, I switched to a Tascam DR-100mkII flash recorder in mid 2013.

I am in the process of converting all my DATs and CDs to FLAC. All the DATs have been transferred but will not be updated on the list until I am ready to convert them to FLAC. Some still need to be split into tracks with Audacity.

(My masters are listed in the notes column on the far right side.)

If You Are Not Interested In Keeping Track Of Audience Recording Details Please Do Not Bother Contacting Me.

My interests are rather varied, as you will see.

CDRs from my DATs have been burned with an HHB CDR 800 pro standalone recorder, from 1998 to 2013.

I am no longer able to transfer DAT recordings, as all of my machines have problems, but all my DATs have been transferred. There are a lot that need to be tracked and FLAC'd.

Soundboard and Audience recordings are graded on different criteria.

An A+ Audience Will Not Ever Match An A+ Soundboard; A Listing Of An A+ Rating Is Simply The Highest Grade In Its Respective Class.

Sound quality grading is subjective, (especially for older shows. For example, a recording from the 1970s will never match the sound quality possible with today's digital recording technology, and should be judged in accordance to the sound recording technology of the time.)

Sound Quality Ratings:

A+ Exceptional; usually reserved strictly for soundboards but I have also given this grade to some of my best FOB Digital Audience Masters, as well as other exceptional Front Of Board Audience recordings. A  Very Good. No flaws. (I don't consider minor polite applause Between songs on an audience recording to be a flaw.) A- Pretty good, but might have a few minor flaws; ie: less than ideal mic placement, some crowd noise on audience recordings, or other misc flaws, ie; slight hiss on soundboard recordings, or very slight distortion. B+ Good but not quite up to an A or A- rating. B More crowd noise, more distortion, or multi generation copies, etc.

Not Currently Trading With Anyone Out Of My Circle. But, if you're looking for something specific, hit me up and I can send via Wetransfer.com

Rock Goes To College was a BBC series that ran between 1978 and 1981 on British television. A variety of up-coming rock oriented bands were showcased live from small venues and broadcast simultaneously on television and radio during a 40-50 minute live performance. Concert Venues: The venues were small University, Polytechnic or College halls holding a few thousand persons which gave a more intimate atmosphere than larger venues and often tickets were given to the Students' Union to distribute for free (to ensure that the concert halls were full) - effectively an invited audience. The bands chosen were also bands which did not have a mainstream following at that time although many went on to be very successful. A BBC DJ would also be present to introduce the band for the television audience. Innovation: The original broadcasts were transmitted on television as well as Sight and Sound in Concert; a BBC initiative to provide simultaneous pictures on BBC2 and stereo radio broadcasts on BBC Radio 1 (as stereo television broadcasts and receivers did not exist at the time). It allowed rock enthusiasts to enjoy the event with an improved sound quality. Lineage: BBC Radio 2 FM broadcast > Phillips CD Recorder > WAV > EAC > WAV> FLAC Band lineup (Uncertain) apart from TP, Can only assume the same personnel from the "Damn The Torpedoes" album Tom Petty - Guitars Lead Vocals Mike Campbell - Guitars Benmont Tench - Organ, Piano, Vocals Ron Blair - Bass (Electric) Stan Lynch - Drums, Vocals FLAC

After chatting with Persic about these shows it seems the masters are gone as well, kindly lent to someone and never returned. Since this is officially Persic's capture it is not part of the DS Archives series but instead offered as known lineage off Mark's master. For this release all the standard prepping went into it, the 1st gen's pitch was very slow which has been corrected as well as the usual channel alignment, de-clicking, removal of the majority of the offending audience noises which were rather extreme during "Breakdown". These are really great shows, a very very solid capture with a bit of hiss likely from the tape to CDR transfer, the fall portion of the tour seems to be under served verses the spring/summer leg. Thanks to Mark impeccable work originally capturing these shows and Dan for supplying the CDR's as well as making a back up all those years ago. Cue sheet reflects that show is a compilation of two events, 11/23/91 at the Lawlor Center in Reno, NV and 11/24/91 at the Oakland Coliseum, Oakland, CA. Some tracks were commercially released on Petty's 6 CD Box Set, "Playback." OldNeumanntapr Notes: This was a difficult one to work on and took almost eight hours to do because the mix down source CDs contained duplicated portions of the end and beginning of many tracks that had to be edited out and blended together. Furthermore, the levels on the source CDs seemed to fluctuate between track to track, as if the mix down CDs were taken from tapes with different levels. So, the ending / beginning of tracks also had to be level balanced so they would play seamlessly. I also moved the song “I’m Tired Joey Boy” to its correct order (following “Here Comes My Girl”). Track eight and track nine had fade in, fade outs between tracks from the source CD which were left in place. I also applied a 10 second fade in to the first track, and a 10 second fade out for the last track to give the recording a professional touch. It was difficult working with these files because they were a compilation from two separate days of recordings, again, with different source levels. What is presented is not the complete set list from either show, but at least there are no jarring transitions between songs anymore and now it is a more pleasant recording in which to listen. 0 FLAC

63. 03/08/95 United Center - Chicago, IL A Soundboard / Video Feed Remixed & remastered by Mr. Sifter, March 2024 (Lossless) Remaster notes: This comes from a leaked in-house video, so the 'low-gen SBD' vague notes of the source are a bit misleading. Demuxed using DeMix Pro, remixed to give the drums a bit more presence, try to find at least a little of Howie's bass when I could, and give the rest a slight stereo image to open things up. Used Ozone Spectral De-Noise to remove quite a bit of unpleasant noise throughout the tape, unfortunately there are no other known sources to patch the occasional moments of static that crop up now and then. Mastering done via Izotope Ozone. ************************************************************************ FLAC >WAV >Audacity (Drop Out Repairs) >Fix SBEs > FLAC + Tags Via xACT 2.53 By OldNeumanntapr (+ front cover artwork) ************************************************************************ FLAC

As Oracle has swallowed other technology companies i.e. Sun Microsystems, Peoplesoft, Siebel, Bea Systems, Hyperion, etc etc etc this event has become quite large. The headliners also tend to be big names. This year it was Sting and Tom Petty. It is held on Treasure Island and they bus 20K-40K people and there is no parking. This is a hassle but for the 2011 lineup I was willing to go for it. I attend the conference but do not pay for a full admission so it means I have to find a wristband for entrance to the party. I was able to secure a wristband and got over on one of the earlier busses with a friend and former client. Grabbed some food but avoided the bad beer and wine. Its all you can drink so people who don't get out much get stupid and drunk. We were able to get a spot on the rail to the right of the center aisle as the crowd filled in. Show opened with a moment of silence to honor the passing of Steve Jobs. This was followed by a set by Sting. After Sting my friend bailed on me and ended up in a corporate area with better food and drinks. I was left to fend for myself with the drunks. All in all a bit more chatter than I prefer but really good sound system and being in the right location makes this a must have. 0 FLAC
